Amarok: an open source apk for hiding files on Android

Hey there, today I'm going to discuss about a open source apk called Amarok which can hide your apps, files, videos or whatever just in a few seconds. So let's start today's vault.

What is Amarok?

Amarok is a free, open-source Android utility designed to hide files and apps instantly. Unlike traditional lockers that encrypt every byte of data (which can take ages for a large video file), Amarok focuses on speed and stealth.

How Does It Work: (The Magic Trick)

Amarok’s speed comes from its unique philosophy: Obfuscation over Encryption.

For Files and Videos : Instead of rewriting a whole file to secure it, Amarok scrambles the file signature and filename. To the Android system, the file becomes unrecognizable it won't show up in your Gallery, Video Player, or File Manager. It essentially looks like a corrupted bit of data until you click Unhide.

For Apps: Amarok disables the apps you select. This removes their icons from your home screen and prevents them from running in the background.

Key Features of Amarok You’ll Love

Instant Hiding: Since it doesn't encrypt, you can hide a 4 GB movie or 1,000 photos in literally one second.

Multi-Mode App Hiding:

Root Mode: For those with rooted phones, this is the most powerful method.

Shizuku / Dhizuku: For non-root users, this allows the app to perform system-level tasks safely.

Camouflage Mode: You can disguise Amarok itself as a harmless Calendar app, complete with a working icon.

Fingerprint/PIN Lock: Secure the control center so only you can access the toggle to reveal your hidden content.

Is it Secure?

Amarok didn't store data on app itself so it's very secure than conventional hiding app and no need extra cloud subscription. It's totally clean.

How to use it:

First download Amarok from here
